Expert consulting conference on cultivating pre-service teacher talents: coordination among university, government and school
On June, 18th, 2023, an expert consulting conference on cultivating pre-service teacher talents was successfully held in Nanjing Normal University, Suiyuan campus. Expert teachers, researchers and headmasters of key high schools all around Jiangsu attended the meeting, contributing wisdoms for cultivating pre-service teacher talents by coordinating resources from multiple stakeholders, such as university, government and school. The meeting was hosted by professor Ding Jianning, director of the English language education department in School of Foreign Languages and Cultures in Nanjing Normal University.
At the beginning of the meeting, professor Sun Xumin, party secretary of the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures in NJNU extended warm welcome and expressed her sincere thanks for all participating experts’ support. Then, professor Wang Yongxiang, dean of the school, introduced the progress and challenges on discipline construction in recent years. Then professor He Feng from Jiangsu Institute of Education Sciences highlighted the necessity to renovate means of talents cultivation under the new curriculum reform background, emphasizing students’ core-competence development. Following that, expert teachers and researchers expressed their own viewpoints from multiple perspectives.
This conference strengthened the connections among our school, local educational institutes and high schools in talents cultivation, while shedding light on new means and possibilities on our current undertakings.
